Introduction

CEE-Economic Forum Velden 2006-2009: your success at the CEE-Economic Forum with more than 1500 participants

Around 100 renowned speakers, more than 1500 participants from all over Europe (15 nations) and business transactions in the amount of €150 million – that was a positive result of the last four years at the CEE-Economic Forum. Such top-managers as Karl Stoss (chief executive, Casinos Austria PLC), Boris Nemsic (chief executive officer, Telekom Austria PLC), Brigitte Ederer (chief executive officer, Siemens PLC Austria), Martin Essl (chief executive officer, BauMax PLC Austria) and Helmut Maukner (managing partner, Ernst&Young Austria) were speakers of the Forum. The highlights of the conference were keynote speakers Hans-Dietrich Genscher (German foreign minister, retired) and Peter Scholl-Latour (an expert of the CEE-market). Apart from the ministers and politicians from the Eastern and Southern Europe we also hosted official delegations from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Southern Europe.

Prospects – Co-operation agreements – Projects

This year, the general issue of the Austrian Central and Eastern European Economic Forum will be “Prospects – Co-operation agreements – Projects”. The Forum takes place in Velden from 14th to 16th September. Velden is situated in the southern part of Austria. Magnificent peaks of the Alps, lakes renowned for crystal clear water, fantastic landscape, exquisite cuisine and superb wellness centres make Velden to an exclusive location! The speakers and participants of the Forum are international top-managers, high-ranking politicians, renowned economic researchers and analysts, journalists, and of course entrepreneurs.

Southeast Europe and EU-candidate countries

The focus of the Forum in 2011 will be on EU-candidate countries, i.e. Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro. European Awards “Europaeus”, various seminars and networking events as well as economic delegations from CEE and SEE regions are also on schedule.
